SCRANTON -- Folks got their hearts pumping to help some local veterans in need.
The Lackawanna County Veterans Treatment Court held its inaugural 5-K run and walk at Nay Aug Park.
Treatment court allows veterans who have committed a crime to participate in rehabilitation programs which address behavioral problems, like mental disorders or addiction.
"They're vets, they deserve our gratitude and respect… so I think it’s great people are coming out to support,” said Margaret Aulisio, Dunmore.
The money raised at the race will go to The Treatment Court Advocacy Center in Lackawanna County.
