YORK, Pa. — The U.S. Food & Drug Administration announced on Tuesday the recall of a sugar-free ginger ale because...it had sugar in it.

Schweppes Zero Sugar Ginger Ale, which is produced by Dr. Pepper/Seven Up, Inc., was voluntarily recalled earlier this month after an internal investigation by the company found that the product, which was labeled as sugar-free, actually contained sugar, the FDA said.

The 24-pack cases were shipped to Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, according to the FDA.

The affected product contains the following code information, according to the FDA:

May 20 24 MAY20240520VS02164 - MAY20240550VS02164

Anyone who purchased one of the affected cases is being asked to throw any remaining products away.
