Join Newswatch 16's Stacy Lange, her mom Amy, and Newswatch 16's Lara Greenberg as they make delicious Spritz Cookies and Cream Cheese Cookies for the holiday season.
Spritz Cookies
1 c butter (we use ½ c Imperial & ½ c Crisco shortening)
¾ c sugar
1 egg
Tsp almond extract
1/8 tsp sale 2 ½ c flour
Cream margarine and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg, stir in rest of ingredients. Put through a cookie press, bake on ungreased cookie sheet 10-12 mins @ 375 degrees (watch for edges to lightly brown and then remove usually less than 10 mins.)
Cream Cheese Cookies
1 c butter (we use ½ c Imperial & ½ c Crisco shortening)
3 ozs of cream cheese
1 c sugar
1 egg yolk
½ tsp vanilla extract
2 ½ c flour
Cream margarine & cream cheese. Stir in sugar, gradually beat until fluffy. Beat in egg yolk & vanilla. Stir in flour & mix well. Put through a cookie press, bake on ungreased cookie sheet 9-11 mins. @ 375 degrees (watch for edges to lightly brown). Let cookies cool, dip in melted chocolate bits & finely chopped pecans.
