Fresh off a team trip in March to play in North Carolina to play in the National High-School Baseball Invitational the Loyalsock Lancers we're back in action last Friday in Heartland Conference play. This veteran group includes three players headed to the ACC and two more to Shippensburg.

"To have the opportunity to coach these guys for one more season is great. To come and battle with these guys every single day is definitely a blessing as a coach," said Jeremy Eck.

"It was a really great experience for us and for the younger kids. I mean some of the younger kids have not had a chance to play in big game scenario like that so it was good to get experience under our belts. It was a fun experience," said Kyle Datres.

For Kyle Datres North Carolina is on the horizon. Luke Glavin it's Duke, and Jimmy Webb-Wake Forest. They've had many conversations about their futures.

"It's the highest level of competition in college baseball and a goal we've all had for a while and it will be fun to see what we can do against the best," said Luke Glavin.

"Our class kind of opened the door to recruiting I think. They look down south, but having five guys-six guys on a team going somewhere I don't know if it's ever happened in Pennsylvania, but we are just trying to enjoy our last year as friends playing together, because it was never the goal to go here or go there. It was always just to have fun and play," said Jimmy Webb.

"We're all talking back and forth about who will be doing what next year. It's all fun and games right now, but it will be fun once we are out on the field at the college level playing against each other," again said Kyle.

Right now the Lancers are trying to be the first team in the history of the PIAA State Baseball Championships to three-peat. Five teams have won two in a row. No team has ever won three.

"It's a great opportunity to try to make history, and win a third state title, and that's the ultimate goal here. We're always talking about baseball and life lessons and these guys standing behind me being knuckleheads that's what it's all about. These guys have been thru it. They've battled, and they've done great things here at Loyalsock. They've made history so that's why I'm going to allow them to stand behind me here," again said Jeremy.
