57-year-old Toledo Mud Hens manger Lloyd McClendon sits in the clubhouse office inside PNC field in Moosic. McClendon a long time baseball guy played in the majors from 1987 to 1994 and is remembered for hitting 5 consecutive home-runs in the Little League World Series for Gary Indiana in 1971.

"It was funny. It was almost like an out-of-body experience you know as a youngster to be able to do that and you look back on it now I think I 've learned to appreciate it more now as an adult than I did as a 12-year-old kid," said Lloyd.

Interviewed by Jim McKay and Mickey Mantle on ABC's Wide World of Sports a shy McClendon let his bat do the talking.

"I didn't know it was happening. He didn't know it was happening. Do you think they are going to walk you today? Yeah definitely," conversation between McClendon, McKay and Mantle.

"It was very nice. I got to meet a lot of different people because of that accomplishment and certainly a lot of people talked about what our team from Gary Indiana did so it was pretty special," added Lloyd.

"They decided not to give anything too..Oh!! Their pitching to him and there it goes five home-runs in five times at bat for Lloyd McClendon," added McKay.

"Since joining this league we travel up and down Interstate 80 and I 've had a chance to pass the Williamsport exit a few times so it certainly brought back a lot of great memories from my childhood," again said Lloyd.

When Lloyd played for Gary Indiana back in 1971 as a 12 year-old he was a pretty good athlete, and when he finds time today in his busy schedule to take in some coverage of

"They're phenomenal! They're much better athletes than I ever was," again said Lloyd.

August will mark the 45th anniversary of McClendon's five consecutive home-runs.
