BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The calendar says spring but Mother Nature says more winter.

This spring snowstorm left a sloppy mess across our area. Some parts got more than a half a foot of snow.

A winter storm just in time for the second day of spring fell on our area overnight and into the early morning.

Those we spoke to in Susquehanna County told Newswatch 16 that the snow although light came down fast.

"I live two miles down the road there was no snow when I came in at 4 (a.m.). When I came into town, there was already about an inch or so on the grass, and it kept snowing pretty good," said Andy Sprouse of Sprouse Landscape Services.

Despite the spring temperatures, not everyone is bothered by the late-season snowfall.

"I'm used to it," said Vinny Lagreca. "I'm from Buffalo. It doesn't bother me one bit."

While some traveled by car, others went by foot. The overnight accumulations didn't stop one Montrose Area High School track runner from heading out for a morning jog.

"A little bit slippery, the back roads are slippery, the main roads aren't that bad. The sidewalks are really mushy," said sophomore Gabe Lawtone.

No matter who we talked to, there was one common theme everyone was looking for spring and those signs of spring, well, they're pretty hard to find.

"We're ready for spring, we're ready to start doing cleanups and get summer work. But winter keeps coming," Sprouse said.

Schools throughout the area are closing or delaying. Check out the complete list here.
