Newswatch 16 has learned the Environmental Protection Agency says drinking water in one Susquehanna County community meets federal standards.

According to Cabot Oil and Gas, a company drilling for natural gas in our area, EPA tests show the water in Dimock is safe to drink.

Homeowners in the Carter Road area of Dimock clairm their well water was contaminated by drilling.

According to an email sent to Newswatch 16 by Cabot, the company is, “Pleased the drinking water meets all regulatory standards.”

Cabot Oil and Gas had delivered water to homes whose owners doubted the quality, but the company stopped in November after the state said the water was safe to drink.
