WATSONTOWN -- A real Grinch, who stole a 2-year-old's present from under a Christmas tree in Northumberland County, was charged by police Monday.
A family from Watsontown said their babysitter stole a present from under their tree and sold it for cash.
According to officers, the man faces theft charges for stealing the Christmas present worth about $30 from under the Parson family's Christmas tree.
Police said Sean Ashelman, a friend of the family was babysitting Conner, two, when he stole a Mickey Mouse table and chair set.
He then returned the set to the store to get a refund said officials.
Newswatch 16 spoke with the mother of the two-year-old Monday.
She said she is upset over the whole situation.
“I just thought it was disgusting that they would do that to a 2-year-old," said Ashley Parsons.
The Family Dollar store where the table originally came from donated a different table to the Parson’s family.
Sean Ashelman is locked up in Snyder County prison.
