MARSHALLS CREEK -- The choir director for the Singing Boys of Pennsylvaina was back in court on Wednesday.

Bernard Schade faces more than 1,100 counts of child pornography in Monroe County.

Schade gave up his right to a hearing on those charges of child pornography and tampering with evidence.

In March, Schade was also charged with sexually assaulting and raping a teenage boy back in the 1990s.

Schade didn't have anything to say to reporters as he walked into a district court in Marshalls Creek.

Troopers brought two suitcases out of the courtroom that are filled with child porn that Schade allegedly had in his possession.

According to court papers, Schade called his neighbor from jail, and asked that they remove the suitcases from his home in East Stroudsburg.

Prosecutors have yet to reveal exactly what's inside, but they did say the district attorney's office would like to combine this child porn case and the rape case moving forward.

"We want to join the cases in regards to an attempt to prove his intent and motive in regards to the sexual assault in the first case," said Monroe County Assistant District Attorney Michael Rakaczewski.

"In my opinion they are two very different events and I don't know that one necessarily has anything to do with the other. But that's something a judge will decide down the road," said defense attorney Phil Lauer .

Schade's rape charges were forwarded to Monroe County court earlier this month. He is now awaiting trial on those charges.
