HAZLETON -- The coroner has identified the victim killed in one of the weekend shootings in Luzerne County.

Gregory Newton, 29, of Hazle Township died of multiple gunshots and his death has been ruled a homicide by the coroner's office.

From Saturday night to Sunday night, the bullets were flying in the Hazleton area.

According to the police chief in Hazleton, shots were fired at First and Seybert, followed by a three vehicle crash, on East Diamond Avenue.  An autopsy Monday morning showed Gregory Newton died of multiple gunshot wounds.  It's been ruled a homicide.

Christian Rosado of Hazleton later turned up at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township with a gunshot wound to the arm.  He's charged with only weapons possession so far, not the homicide, but according to the police paperwork, Rosado admitting firing at Newton.

One Hazleton resident is concerned about simply going outside.

"Ain't no telling where these bullets are going these days. It's too dangerous, too dangerous for the kids."

Sunday night at the Beech Street Playground in Hazleton, one person was shot.  Police tell us the victim has minor injuries.  They will not tell us the circumstances surrounding the Beech Street shooting.

And shots were fired Saturday night on East 23rd Street in Hazle Township.  Police recovered shell casings, but there is no victim.  Police issued a lookout for a silver Chevrolet SUV.

We won't see these latest crimes on national television.  The Spike Network show "Cops" had been recording material in Hazleton recently.  Newswatch 16 has learned they were not tailing Hazleton police over the  weekend.
