Sprucing up Public Square on Earth Day

Workers spent Thursday morning taking care of the environment in downtown Wilkes-Barre.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Volunteers did their best to make things green this chilly Earth Day in downtown Wilkes-Barre.

Grasshopper Lawns Inc. donated their time and services to spruce up Public Square.

Workers fertilized and aerated the grass, and sprayed for weeds, as well as treated the crabapple trees, and filled the planting boxes on the square.
