PLAINS TOWNSHIP -- Police are investigating a robbery that happened Tuesday morning at a mini mart in Luzerne County.

The latest armed robbery happened at the Uni Mart Convenience Store on North Main Street in Plains Township just before 9 a.m.

It's the fifth armed robbery in Luzerne County in as many days.

A clerk in the store says the man pointed a gun at her before demanding money. Police have not said whether he is connected to any of the other robberies that recently happened in Luzerne County.

The Luzerne County district attorney's office released a photo of Joseph Lombardo Monday. He is wanted for theft. People we showed the photo to think it looks a lot like the suspect from this robbery.

"Absolutely, they both look like the same people. The eyes -- one's straight one's cockeyed," said Ed Zabroski of Jenkins Township.

"They both look the same," said Toni Ricci of Jenkins Township. "I would say it's the same person."

Police have not said if the two are the same guy or if all the recent robberies are related.

Law enforcement is stepping up its efforts. Now, state police are involved after local police requested their help. A state police helicopter was seen circling the store shortly after the robbery.

The clerk said the man told her he wasn't going to hurt her, but she said he covered his face and she wasn't able to tell if he looks like Lombardo.

Police ask you to call 911 if you recognize the men from the photos and that the man from Tuesday's robbery is considered armed and dangerous.
