HAZLETON -- For almost 20 years, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce and the Hazleton CareerLink have hosted an annual job fair, but this year's is the biggest yet
"Usually we have anywhere between 600 and 800 people," said Leann Fallabel with the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce.
More than 60 employers came out to the Genetti Ballroom near Hazleton on Thursday to talk with job seekers in Luzerne County.
Many of the vendors were from the industrial, medical or education fields.
"This year we actually have 17 new businesses participating, so we're excited about that," said Fallabel.
Employers said there are hundreds of job openings in the Hazleton area right now.
"We have a lot of job openings. We are in-home non-medical care," said Melissa Melnick of Comfort Keepers.
Which is good news for those looking for a new gig, like Fred Marino of Hazleton. He's retired and looked for something new.
"How many different stations and actually the listings of the jobs that are provided, so you have a chance to review them."
Or, Paul Ziegler of Hazleton who said actually liking your job is key.
"Warehousing or something that I like doing, something that is fun."
Besides checking out the 62 employers, there was also a massage section hosted by the McCann School of Business and Technology students for those who were feeling stress.
"We have massages to just help the person relax and just think positive for the day," John Gonzalez from McCann.
Those who were leaving the job fair told Newswatch 16 they're feeling pretty good about their chances and they're ready to work!
