WILKES-BARRE, Pa. -- A grandson is now facing third-degree murder charge in the beating death of his 91-year-old grandfather.
George Bacon was found dead inside his home in Sweet Valley last Friday.
Joshua Bacon, 19, was led to his arraignment Wednesday morning. He was locked up on an assault charge after Friday's incident.
"No comments, no photos, I've said this five million times, no questions, no comments, no photos, thank you."
Bacon is now facing a third-degree murder charge for allegedly beating his grandfather to death.
Court papers say when they responded, they found Joshua Bacon naked, covered in blood, inside the house, with broken pipes and items thrown about and then found his grandfather beaten to death lying face down on the floor.
"You see the Staties and the whole nine yards, the first thing that comes to your mind is something real bad like this. I mean, that's just the way it is," said neighbor Bob Mansfield.
A neighbor tells Newswatch 16 George Bacon took his grandson Joshua in about a year ago, and he lived in an apartment attached to his home.
Court papers say Bacon was not alone before he allegedly beat his grandfather to death. Troopers interviewed three other people who say they were with Joshua at the home, hanging out. They say Bacon took LSD and became violent. They left when he tried to hurt them.
Bacon remains locked up in Luzerne County.
