WEST PITTSTON -- It's one of the most anticipated movies of the year and it's just days away from hitting a theater near you.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is a must-see movie for two high school students we spoke with in Luzerne County.

"I'm very excited to see what Disney can do with the Star Wars to see if they can take it further. Not sure if I'm going to like it or not, but I'm very excited to see what they can do with it," Joseph Braun said.

Workers at Movies 14 on East Northampton Street in Wilkes-Barre tell Newswatch 16 seven of their 14 screens will show the movie on opening night. Those lucky enough to grab their tickets early can't wait.

"I've watched every single one. I've waited for the seventh one and I'm going with my friends this weekend," Reilly Yanulavich said.

At Rubber Mallet Comics in West Pittston, owner Chuck Rowles has several Star Wars items in stock. He says the film is all his customers are talking about.

"They've brought a lot of people into this store. People who normally don't buy comics hear there's a Star Wars book that's starting, they want to jump in," Rowles said.

Rowles remembers seeing the first Star Wars movie with his dad as a kid.

Even though it has been a decade in the making for the latest film, he believes the wait is well worth it.

"I like what the previews look like. It looks exciting. A little bit nervous because it's my childhood movie again being relaunched so we'll see," Rowles said.

While "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" officially opens on Friday, several movie theaters in our area will start showing it on Thursday night.
