PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP -- Crews were on the scene of a brush fire Friday afternoon in Luzerne County.
About 100 acres were scorched on the mountain side near Plymouth.
There are not a lot of homes or businesses near the area that burned.
The deputy fire chief said the crews were afraid the fire would spread over the mountain because of strong winds on Friday afternoon.
Planes dropped water to help keep the flames under control.
The deputy chief says fire crews will be back in the area with officials from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to check conditions.
No one was hurt, and evacuations were not needed due to that brush fire.
