FORTY FORT -- An airplane hangar in Luzerne County has been condemned and the owner has been ordered to clean it up.

Emergency Management Officials, police and the Department of Environmental Protection all showed up at the Wyoming Valley Airport in Forty Fort.

They say the hangar on the airfield is privately owned.

Authorities got a tip and found lots of problems inside. Those problems included opened containers of oil and an old bread truck fitted with two drums, used to transport gas.

"Fifty five gallon drums inside a bread truck, he's fueling up at a convenience store, bringing the fuel here to fuel his plane," said Andy Tuzinski, Luzerne County EMA. "He gets into a motor vehicle accident, volunteer firefighters, career firefighters responding, they have no idea what's in there."

Officials in Luzerne County add the owner has agreed to clean everything in the airplane hangar.
