One dead after fireworks tragedy in Scranton

Officials believe a man was killed instantly when the firework he was trying to deploy exploded.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Emergency crews were called to the 2800 block of Cedar Avenue around 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The coroner said one person died due to a "fireworks mishap." That man was identified as 31-year-old Corey Buckley.

Officials believe he was killed instantly when the firework he was trying to deploy exploded.
