CARBONDALE -- A garage in Lackawanna County caught fire while someone was inside.
Crews say the flames broke out at the place on Farview Street in Carbondale around 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Officials said a man was working on a fuel pump on his car and got thrown by some type of explosion.
"I heard an explosion. I ran outside. I thought someone ran into my house with a car. I saw it was across the street and I went over and the guy was laying on the ground. I guess the explosion blew him through his garage door. I asked him if he was alright. He was a little shaken up. His legs seemed burnt. The house was just engulfed, the garage, after that," said Mike Balinas of Carbondale.
The victim was taken to the hospital.
Authorities are investigating what caused the fire.
