Aquarium welcomes back guests in Lackawanna County

This was the first full weekend back open for the Electric City Aquarium and Reptile Den after last month's COVID-19 restrictions.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Families looking to keep out of the cold headed for the tropical climate inside the Electric City Aquarium and Reptile Den.

This was the first full weekend back open for the place at the Marketplace at Steamtown after last month's COVID-19 restrictions.

So, there were some special events planned; alligators were served lunch right out in the lobby, and the kids could get up close and personal with all different kinds of reptiles.

We are currently open with a temporary adjusted schedule of Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:00am-6:00pm. Our last admission is at 5:15pm. The safety of our guests and staff is still our first priority. We do require all staff and guests age 2 and older to wear a face covering that covers both your mouth and nose at all times inside the facility.
