Kurt Aaron tested out the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker to find out, "Does It Really Work?"
The maker claims it will cook everything at once in five minutes or less. It works by putting everything in layers, closing the lid, and cooking everything at the same time. The layers are removable for easy cleaning and it also comes with a cook book.
It cooks other things besides egg sandwiches, you can make pancake sandwiches, bagel sandwiches and more.
To test the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker, Kurt went to Bobby O's in Dupont.
Eric is the owner and has tested kitchen gadgets in the past and agreed to help.
They started by reading the instructions and cleaning everything. The instructions say to wash the sandwich maker before first use. After you clean it, you have to apply some oil to it even though it's a non-stick cooking item. The directions say for better results wipe it down with a little bit of oil.
Now putting the breakfast sandwich together inside the Hamilton Beach cooker seemed really weird.
First, Kurt placed an english muffin down, followed by some ham and cheese. Next, another layer was pulled down.
They decided to wait the full five minutes. There's no light or signal to indicate when the breakfast sandwich is done. After five minutes, Eric took the sandwich out and inspected it.
According to him, the sandwich was fully cooked.
Eric said the Hamilton Beach sandwich maker did a great job! It cooked the sandwich in five minutes or less.
They tested it a second time and only cooked it for 4 minutes. It worked just as well. The egg had just a little runny yolk but that's all.
Eric really liked the Hamilton Beach sandwich maker! He gave it a thumbs up. The prep time took a little longer than expected. However, it does clean up easily and cooks sandwiches in five minutes or less.
