Home in Columbia County gutted by fire

Neighbors heard explosions as propane tanks blew up outside the home.

STILLWATER, Pa. — A fire on Monday morning destroyed a home in Columbia County.

It started just before 11 a.m. at a home on Winding Road in Fishing Creek Township, near Stillwater.

Four people lived in the home. Two people were home at the time and got out safely after neighbors knocked on the door to let them know the house was on fire.

Neighbors heard explosions as propane tanks blew up outside the home.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.

A fire marshal is investigating the cause.
