LAMAR TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- State police say the man wanted for stabbing his sister-in-law to death in Clinton County and then going on the run has been caught after a four-day manhunt.

Timothy Neff, 56, of Mill Hall, was taken from the state police barracks at Lamar Township and to the Clinton County jail around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

Neff was later arraigned on criminal homicide and related charges. A district justice ordered him held without bail.

Neff is charged with killing his sister-in-law Friday afternoon at a home in Lamar Township. Police say there was an argument that ended with Neff stabbing Agnes Neff in the back. Neff's brother William Neff was wounded in the attack.

According to court papers, late last week Agnes Neff and her husband William left a note on their kitchen table telling Timothy he needed to start paying $700 a month for rent to live with them. When Timothy Neff found the note, he was upset. Late Friday afternoon, Timothy and Agnes began to fight. Police say Timothy punched Agnes in the face and that's when Timothy's brother got involved.

During the struggle, Timothy grabbed a knife and stabbed his sister-in-law in the back. His brother was also hurt.

Timothy was on the run for four days and police feared he could be on the loose for a while because he is an avid outdoorsman with survival skills.

Police did say Timothy told his ex-wife he was, "somewhere peaceful."

No bail was set. Timothy Neff is behind bars in Clinton County and is expected to be back in court next week.
