UPDATE: Interstate 80 west in Clinton County reopened just before 8 a.m. Saturday.

(Original story)

GREENE TOWNSHIP -- Interstate 80 westbound is expected to remain closed for an additional eight hours after a pileup involving nearly four dozen vehicles Friday afternoon.

According to State Police at Lamar, the road will remain closed until approximately 4:30 a.m. Saturday to assist with the cleanup.

Nearly two dozen people were injured in the crash.

Sources on scene report at least 45 vehicles -- including eight tractor-trailers along with dozens of passenger vehicles.

PennDOT reports the closure is between exits 212B: I-180 West - Williamsport and 185: PA 447 - Loganton.

This is the second multi-vehicle crash on I-80 in a few short hours in that part of the state, coming after multiple snow squalls with reported "white out" conditions passed through the region.

WNEP's Stormtracker 16 team is still forecasting snow squalls to pass through parts of our area through Friday afternoon.
