JIM THORPE -- The borough of Jim Thorpe plans to appeal a judge's ruling about their community's namesake.
Thorpe's family won a court case last month clearing the way for the family to move the legendary athlete's remains to Native American land in Oklahoma.
Residents are concerned about what the legal ruling could mean to their community.
Thorpe was buried in the Carbon County borough in the 1950s in exchange for renaming it for the Olympic champion and pro football player.
Council members in Jim Thorpe say the borough will need to raise money in order to fight last month's ruling.
