LEHIGHTON, Pa. — A party eight years in the making kicked off on Friday night in Carbon County.
This was the first block party in several years at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Lehighton.
"After our school closed, the block party got cut, and no more was said. But for the past two years, we've been planning, and as you can see, we're doing pretty well for our first night in 8 years," said Jordan Cook, chairman of the Backyard Bash.
On 3rd and Coal Streets in Lehighton, the Backyard Bash continues on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
