On Monday, power plants in our area that have been owned and operated by PPL will have new owners.
Talen Energy is taking over the first of June at the nuclear plants in Luzerne and Montour counties. They will also take over Lake Wallenpaupack in Wayne and Pike counties.
Employees say in the coming weeks, they’ll be removing the letters “P-P-L” from roughly 600 signs around the lake.
PPL will still distribute electricity to homes and businesses under that name, but Talen takes over the power plants on Monday.
