CLARKS SUMMIT — A man was taken into custody in Clarks Summit for alleged threats against President Obama on Thursday, according to Police Chief Joe Laguzzi.

The chief said on Thursday they were approached by the Secret Service about the alleged threats.

Then on Friday, while the President was en route to Lackawanna College in Scranton, the last stop on his two-day bus tour, the Clarks Summit Police Department along with the county SWAT team assisted the Secret Service with a warrant to remove items that were a concern from a house on 328 Melrose Avenue. The chief said the warrant was issued for the left side of the double-block home.
The identity of the individual taken into custody is not being released at this hour, but investigators said that the man is not originally from the area and had just started renting the property.
