HARRISBURG -- The day after attorney general Kathleen Kane spoke out, questions are being raised across Pennsylvania about her side of the story

There's plenty of scrutiny about the approach Kathleen Kane took when she spoke out on the criminal charges against her.

Kane said on Wednesday she believes her charges are part of a plot to get her out of office after she uncovered a chain of pornographic emails from state officials.

But many people are questioning whether that's really the whole story.

Front pages from across the state are all about attorney general Kathleen Kane's first public comment since prosecutors charged her last week.

Kane held a news conference Wednesday in Harrisburg saying she was innocent of charges she leaked grand jury information and then lied about it.

Papers from across the state have similar front page headlines and columns questioning Kane's approach

The Morning Call column reads "What's Wrong with Kane's Whole Story."

And the Patriot News calls Kane's scene "surreal."

Kane vowed to maintain her innocence, claiming she did not leak any secret grand jury information and that the charges she is facing are part of a plan by some public officials who want her out office.

"These individuals believe they are on the precipice of their ultimate goal the burial, the death and burial of this email chain and their involvement in it forever," said Kane at the news conference. "I am innocent of any wrongdoing. I neither conspired with anyone, nor directed anyone to do anything illegal or unlawful."

Kane has asked that a judge in Montgomery County release those emails but so far there has been no response from his office
