WILKES-BARRE -- Children and adults put their imaginations to the test in Wilkes-Barre.

"Chalkfest" was held Sunday at the River Common along the Susquehanna River.

Children of all ages were given a box of chalk and a designated space to draw.

Organizers said they hope to teach the youngsters about nature.

"We hope that someone has had the opportunity that when they walk away from here they learn something about the environment," said John Maday, Riverfront Parks Committee.

The River Common was also filled with various activity tables and exhibits to help promote creativity in Wilkes-Barre.
