SCRANTON -- Athletes hit the track for a 5k in Scranton on Saturday.

The race at Veterans Memorial Stadium was all a part of WNEP’s Ryan's Run 7 fundraiser for Allied Services. Ryan’s Run helps kids and adults with disabilities.

Following the 5k, there was an all-abilities walk.

"Kaitlyn sees her brother compete in a lot of sporting events and she sees me running races. She was so excited to come out today and to have a chance to participate herself. She's really been looking forward to this," said Debbie Andre of Montrose.

Hundreds of people took part in the race and all-abilities walk.

This was just one of the events leading up to Ryan's Run at the New York City Marathon on November 6.
