A student in Wayne County is accused of plotting the murder of his own mother. The Western Wayne student is charged with trying to get two brothers to kill his mom.

All three were arraigned on charges Tuesday morning.

State police said a senior from Western Wayne High School and two brothers from Moscow plotted to kill the high school senior's mother.

Troppers said that plot was discovered Monday and stopped before it could be carried out.

Those charged in the alleged murder plot are Patrick Stephen, 17, of Lake Ariel, David Gower, 25, and his brother, Jonathon Gower, 21, both of Moscow.

Police said Stephen tried to convince the Gowers brothers to kill his mother. The plan was to stab the woman.

According to police, Stephen was unhappy with his home situation. David Gower, who was dating Stephen's sister, had an ongoing feud.

The teen and the two men are behind bars at the Wayne County Correctional Center.
