An accident killed a man from Wayne County. Police said he was run over by his own pick-up truck.
State police are checking the pick-up for mechanical problems. They know that for some reason, the truck rolled while Shane Fuller, 39, of Damascus was underneath.
State police said Fuller stopped the vehicle on Milanville Road near Beach Lake to check out a problem. They said Fuller was underneath the left front wheel when the pick-up rolled backwards and over him.
Todd Nearing used to work with Fuller at a feed mill just over the New York state line. Nearing says Fuller was a husband and a father of two who loved to hunt and fish and was devoted to his family.
"He was a good guy, good to his kids, you always saw him on the ball field with his daughter and son playing a little soccer or tennis," said Nearing. "It's kind of amazing, terrible, a good guy. He didn't deserve it."
State police in Wayne County consider Fuller's death an accident, but they plan to do a thorough inspection of the pick-up truck to find out why it may have shifted into reverse.
