Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the phone number for the contest? A: 1-877-283-5516 (1-877-2TELL-16)
Q: When I call, I get a message saying the number is not valid. What am I doing wrong? A: You are probably dialing 1-800, not 1-877. It is a toll-free number, but be aware the prefix is 877. Also, remember to dial the "1" first if you're calling from a land line. (You may not need to dial the "1" if you are calling from a cell phone.)
Q: I always get put into voice mail, even if I call really early. How come? A: This is a "Watch to Win" contest. You cannot win, until you watch! The phone line is not open until the trivia question has run, and the phone number appears on the screen. If you call too early, you will get a voice mail message.
Q: Does it matter if you live closer to the station? Will my call go through slower if I live farther away? It doesn't seem fair!! A: It makes no difference where you live. All calls have the same chance of going through. In fact, we've had winners for our phone-in contests from all over our viewing area. Please be aware that potentially, thousands of other viewers are calling at the same time as you. Getting through and being the 16th caller takes a lot of luck!
Q: Every time I call I get a message saying the circuits are full. Why? A: Potentially, thousands of other viewers are calling at the same time as you. Sometimes, this will overload the phone system. But lots of other calls do make it through, and every night, we have a 16th caller, and a winner. Keep trying!
