A man died Thursday night when a double-block home went up in flames in Schuylkill County.

Fire investigators are trying to figure out how the fire started in Shenandoah.

While investigators are still trying to determine exactly how the fire started, the victims got their first look in the daylight at the aftermath of a fire that took a life in a matter of minutes.

"I can never get those years back," Donna Lisinichia said tearfully.

Crying is just about all she can do after losing her fiance, Robert Specht, 53, in the fire at their home.

The blaze broke out about 8 p.m. Thursday at the double-block home along West New York Street in Shenandoah. Lisinichia thinks it all started in the rear her house.

"It was on the back porch," Lisinichia said. "I don't know what was on fire."

The other homeowner, Patti Clark said she lived yhere with her husband and four children for only about three weeks and they spent the majority of that time remodeling.

"And now there's nothing, not a thing!" Clark said.

Neither family had insurance. Lisinichia said what makes this even tougher is that she and Specht were planning to marry soon. They were together for 10 years.

"I was supposed to go for open heart surgery next month and after the opening heart surgery we were going to get married. Now it's all taken. Gone!" Lisinichia added. "A human life died in that fire who didn't deserve to die and especially not die like that."
