Fire Destroys Barn
Firefighters in Schuylkill County couldn't save a barn that went up in flames early Monday morning.

The fire started about 2:30 a.m. at the barn near New Ringgold.

Crews said the barn was full of flames when they arrived. No animals or hay were inside the barn and no utilities were hooked up to the barn.

The owner of the barn thinks the fire was intentionally set.

"Obviously somebody lit it. It's arson," said Jim Birdsall. "There's no electricity. There is no way fo rit to catch on fire with anything else."

A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause.
