Arsonist Pleads Guilty

John Yerusavage at a hearing in September 2008

An accused arsonist in Schuylkill County pleaded guilty but mentally ill to the charges against him.

John Yerusavage of Auburn was accused of setting three fires last year including one that destroyed the Precisionaire factory near Auburn.

The place made air filters. Damage from that fire was estimated at more than $1 million.

The company recently announced that it will not rebuild the plant. 130 people worked there.

Yerusavage will be sentenced later in Schuylkill County. It will be up to a judge to decide where he will serve his time.
