Prescribed Burns – Setting forests on fire intentionally to save it in the future. Don Jacobs goes along on a controlled burn of 25 acres of State Game Lands in Monroe County. This was the backdrop for a new initiative to help Mother Nature manage our Pennsylvania forests. After weeks of preparation and the perfect weather conditions, the prepared property was set on fire. Habitats and ecosystems begin a new chapter in the Poconos.
