For two fire companies that serve nearby communities, it is the biggest fundraiser of the year.
From being chased by chain saws, to getting high fives from creepy clowns, the sights and soundsin Elysburg were sure to get a lot of screams.
Hundreds of people came out to the Elysburg Haunted House and Woods for a night of fright.
"I like scary things!" said Pete Long, Jr. of Shamokin. "We look forward to this every year. The younger ones have been bugging us to come and so far so good," said Long, who brought sons Nate and Pete Jr. out to the event with his wife, Kelly.
"Just to be scared to death, this is a great place to do it!" laughed Cheri Stiles of Montoursville.
It's not all just about the cheap thrills.
The haunted adventure is the biggest fundraiser of the year for both the Elysburg and Ralpho Fire Companies.
"It's very important, the cost of equipment keeps going up and this is the biggest fundraiser for both fire departments, this is a very important fundraiser for us," said Harvey Boyer, president of the Elysburg Fire Company.
In order to get to the house, you've got to go through the woods.
After climbing through crazy tunnels, to dealing with homicidal pigs and people who seem to appear out of nowhere, you finally get there.
"There were these people that looked like trees!" exclaimed Jamie Dezzin of Danville.
For the brave souls who went wandering through the house, they were given a jump at every twist, turn and corner. It seems even after you finally made it out, there was always just one more thing to make you scream.
"It's awesome, it's always different, it's never the same, you never know what to expect and usually they don't get me but this year, they got me," said Trudy Hauer of Shamokin.
The last night to tour the haunted adventure will be Saturday night, on Halloween.
Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is $8 a person, that of course is, if you dare.
