A man accused of stealing thousands from a fire company entered a plea Monday in Northumberland County.
Barry Strausser is the former trustee of the Fairview Fire Company in Coal Township and former head of the ambulance company.
In court Monday Struasser pleaded no contest to charges he stole more than $5,000 from the fire company. Investigators said Strausser bought heart monitoring equipment. He then sold the emergency medical equipment for $26,000, and pocketed thousands from that sale.
By Strausser pleading no contest Strausser is not admitting guilt but he is also not disputing the charges.
