A woman from Monroe County is charged with involuntary manslaughter for the death of her 13-year-old son.
Police in the Poconos said Ginger Boyle did not get medical help for her son in April after she learned he had taken at least two of her prescription methadone pills and had several more prescription pills belonging to her. Boyle called 911 after her son was unconscious. He was taken to Pocono Medical Center but died before he arrived.
An autopsy showed the boy died of a drug overdose.
Boyle is charged with involuntary manslaughter and putting a child in danger. She is free on $100,000 bail.
