There is a reward to help catch the burglars who broke into several businesses in Lycoming County. They trashed one of the places. The vandalism along with the stuff that was taken adds up to thousands of dollars.

Owners of the Trout Pond Park complex can't believe someone would wreck the place. Now there is a $500 reward for anyone who leads state police to those responsible.

It has been days since the break-in near Hughesville. Still, some of the mess is left to clean up. Owner Frank Pidcoe bought the place with its skating rink and dance hall in May.

"Last week it was horrible, come in and see that. All the hard work we've put in since May. It's heartbreaking," Pidcoe said.

There was damage to the skating rink floor, a pool table and food stands were completely trashed. Hundreds of dollars is missing and Pidcoe and his family are making it known they're upset.

"Just the way they trashed the place. They threw the slushie flavors out across the floor, the floor in the old skating rink is stained. That will probably cost $3,500 to fix," Pidcoe added.

Ever since the break-in early Thursday morning, the folks at Trout Pond Park have been working around the clock to keep the place open for the public. Now they're asking for help.

Pidcoe thinks the burglars broke down a door to a shop that sells paintball equipment. He said nearly $8,000 worth of guns were stolen and then the destruction started in the dance hall.

"Just the destructive nature of it. It's one thing to steal something, but to go ahead and destroy on top of it, it hurts, really hurts," said Pidcoe.

"I hope they catch them, get their due. It's bad enough they came in and robbed us but then to do all that damage, that's unconscionable," said Sheryl Delker of Trout Pond Park.

Anyone with information that could help state police track down those burglars is asked to call 570-369-5700.
