Pennsylvania State Police say one person is dead and two injured after a wreck on Interstate 81 in Luzerne County.
Troopers say Zachary Stasik of Larksville died in the wreck Monday night.
Stasik was a passenger in a car driven by Carly Morcom of Jermyn. Morcom and another passenger, Erica Bylotas of Clarks Summit, were taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. There's no word yet on their conditions or their ages.
The crash happened about two miles south of the Avoca, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport exit (exit 178) and slowed traffic for about three hours.
Police say the Volvo carrying the three people was headed north when it flipped, went across the median, and wound up in the southbound lanes.
Truck driver Bill Bass said he saw the whole thing unfold in front of him.
"(The car) flipped, rolled everything about five or six times," and Bass said he also saw Stasik thrown through a car window. "I was hitting on the brakes because I wanted to stop before I got to them."
Sylvie Hauck who used to be an EMT stopped to help.
"The passenger and the boy in the road were not conscious," said Hauck. "The girl in the driver seat was in and out of consciousness. Tragic, very tragic."
