Two people are out of their home after a fire in Luzerne County.
The fire broke out Monday, along Broadway Road in Ross Township, in the Sweet Valley area.
The alarm came in around 11 p.m. Monday and that home in Ross Township has a lot of damage.
The fire chief told Newswatch 16 the fire apparently started in the living room. He said he doesn't know why. The investigation is underway.
Two people lived here, and both were home when the fire started. They both got out of the burning home without being hurt. The Red Cross is helping them until they can find a new place to stay.
Two firefighters had to be treated at the scene for breathing in too much smoke. They should recover, according to the chief.
Temperatures were in the teens when the fire broke out. Water used to fight the fire froze when it hit the ground, and PennDOT had to be called in to salt down some icy roads.
