Four people are charged with killing a man whose body was found in the woods of Schuylkill County this week.
Police believe the motive was revenge.
Troopers believe something that happened two months ago caused the four accused killers to beat Anthony Locascio to death Monday night.
The suspects are Curtis Foose, Jeffrey Gombert, Shane Roof and Andrew Tutko. All have connections to the Hazleton or Palmerton areas.
Locascio was found in a wooded area near Ringtown Tuesday. Police said his body was found partially nude and troopers believe Locascio was killed in the woods.
Investigators said pictures of the victim's tattoos shown on the news helped crack the case.
Roommates said an incident that occurred in July is most likely what led to the fatal beating Monday night. They added his interest in a certain type of music is not part of the problem.
A burning candle and some memories.
That's what roommates of Anthony Locascio are left with following what they believe a retribution killing for snitching on some friends.
Now one of them feels bad for setting up a friendship gone wrong.
"Tony met them through me and I know I'm not supposed to feel sorry for that but I wanted him to make new friends but I didn't know what kind of crowd it was 100 percent," said roommate Arnold Keller.
Jeremiah Calk insists Locascio's interest in heavy metal music by groups like the Insane Clown Posse was not to blame. He thinks the lyrics are often misunderstood.
"They speak in subliminal messages about helping one another out. It's about God. It may look all dark and all that but that's judging a book by its cover. You aren't listening hard enough," Calk said.
Locascio became friends with the accused following their shared interest in the music and Keller said he feels like he's lost a member of his family.
"I just want to tell his mom and dad that I feel for them because he was like a brother to me and I miss him as much as they do," Keller added.
Police will not say whether this incident has anything to do with gang activity.
In the mean time Locacsio friends are planning a memorial at Public Square in Wilkes-Barre where he was known to spend time with friends.
