The state fire marshal said a fire that destroyed a vacant house in Lackawanna County was no accident.
Crews were called to the house on Main Street in Vandling on Thursday night but said there was little they could do to save the house. Flames damaged homes on either side. One of those families had to find a a place to stay because of the damage.
Neighbors said the people who lived in the house that burned had moved out last weekend.
Invesetigators ruled the fire an arson but did not say how it started.
