Go Joe XII has begun! Don't forget, between 6:30-7pm (M-F) on WNEP2, Jake will be hosting Go Joe extended coverage!

Newswatch 16's Morning Meteorologist Joe Snedeker will be pedaling his Go Joe XII for St. Joseph's Center, Dunmore (www.stjosephscenter.org) during the week of July 20th.

Joe wants to thank you for supporting the Charity Bike Ride for the last 11 years and is hoping to build on the more than $1 million total for the severely mentally and physically challenged children and young adults of St. Joe's. Joe is ready to announce the week-long target towns. Though the exact route may alter as he travels, we do have a list of towns to target during the week. You'll know Joe is coming when you see the decorated RV, from Susquehanna RV, carrying the Go Joe Logo. This will be in the town just before Joe, so come out and give a cheer (and a dollar), then, meet up with the WNEP crew at each evening's stop.

How will the bike ride work?
  • Joe will begin his ride from the top of Elk Mountain the highest peak in Eastern PA (at 2,693 feet elevation).
  • WNEP-TV will man a Go Joe RV that leads the tour and stops at towns in advance of Joe. The noon locations and evening locations are listed below and have important information about each of them. Viewers are encouraged to go to one of those locations to see Joe as these locations are fairly certain.
  • Each morning, Joe will give a better idea of his route for the day on Newswatch 16 This Morning. Remember, each day provides different challenges in terms of distance & terrain and weather is always a factor.
  • The Go Joe RV will stop at towns along the route for an opportunity to see Joe and to make a monetary donation (checks should be made payable to St. Joseph's Center).
  • Joe will be riding at his own pace with a target of reaching specific places each day therefore, he may not be able to stop very frequently between those locations but he'd love to give a wave.
  • Each evening's stop will feature that part of the coverage area, its people and, thanks to the communities, there will be fun things for folks to do when they join us there.

Safety notes:
  • For Joe's safety and the public's safety, WNEP-TV asks viewers not to join Joe on the bike ride. Traffic and riding terrain may put people in danger and we do not want anyone to get hurt.
  • Please don't 'jump out' to try to give Joe a donation for St. Joe's. Though every donation is appreciated, this may cause unsafe riding. Try to meet the Go Joe RV along the route and at announced stops to present donations for St. Joe's - please. Also, each evening, representatives from St. Joe's will be on site to personally accept your donation. If you can't make it to the noon or evening locations, you can still mail your donation to:
Go Joe XII, c/o WNEP-TV, 16 Montage Mountain Road, Moosic, PA 18507.
Thanks for any support you can give St. Joe's.
