According to Lackawanna County Court employees, the FBI paid a visit to the courthouse Monday, going into County Court Administrator Ron Mackay's office.

Agents would not comment on why they were in the office, but this was not the FBI's first visit to that Lackawanna County Courthouse.

Earlier this month, several courthouse employees were subpoened by federal agents as part of an ongoing investigation.

Just south of Lackawanna County, is a county all too familiar with FBI visits and subpoenas.

Federal agents visited the Luzerne County Courthouse several times in the course of a massive investigation that led to dozens of arrests and charges and toppling of three Luzerne County judges.

During the lengthy investigations, federal agents raided several offices and carried away boxes of files.
