Two men are facing charges in an alleged drug deal that went bad in Clinton County.

One man is dead and the alleged shooter claimed he pulled the trigger in self-defense.

John Aikey, 31, Lock Haven was shot and killed last night, according to court papers.

Lock Haven police put Joey Duffield, 27, Lock Haven in handcuffs and took him off to the Clinton County Correctional Facility. Duffield is one of two men police say were involved in a drug deal that ended with another man dead.

Duffield said he acted in self-defense.

"He kept coming at me, and I told him I had a gun on my side. I had a carry permit for my gun. He just kept coming at me," said Duffield.

Duffield and Shon Tolbert, 23, Lock Haven are now accused of delivering drugs to Aikey at his apartment at Lock Haven Gardens late Sunday night.

Duffield admitted to shooting Aikey after the two got into a scuffle where Aikey was armed with a knife, according to court papers.

"My girlfriend was with me, I was protecting me and everyone else around me," added Duffield.

It is still unclear if investigators will file more serious charges against the two. Meanwhile, Duffield's father claimed his son was justified in shooting Aikey. Police have not said if they believe Duffield acted in self defense.

"I don't want to see anybody dead, my poor son will have to live that on his conscience all his life. Drugs suck," stated Terry Duffield.

An autopsy on the victim is scheduled for Tuesday.

Both Joey Duffield and Shon Tolbert are locked up in Clinton County..
