It was a long weekend for tree services in Wyoming County and the work to clean up after Friday's storm isn't over yet. There were trees brought down in spots all over the county.
"Our boss, he said he was getting calls just as soon as the storms passed through," said Tim Morris of Brown Hill Tree Company.
The latest on the list for that tree service was along Route 6 near Tunkhannock. A bunch of trees were down surrounding some homes there.
"There were branches whipping across the lawn here," said Stephen Bell. "It was amazing, it was really something." Bell had a tree down in front of his house and one in the back too. "I looked to the right as I came out on the patio and I found the tree and thought, the tree's gone, oh my goodness".
"It was nice a half hour before that I never knew it was coming," said Lloyd Burton. The storms left damage all around his home too. "Just a few trees some gutters a few shingles, nothing major thank god."
Another spot in Wyoming County with trees down and cleanup underway is a place that knows severe weather and strong storms well, Lake Carey.
"It was terrible," said Tom Severcoom. "The wind was so hard the rain was coming right down sideways, it wasn't straight down." One toppled tree at Severcoom's house was actually one that grew up since a tornado leveled trees all around Lake Carey 11 years ago.
That time Severcoom's house was damaged too. This time it was only tree damage. "It all went one way, straight line wind," he said.
Winds that certainly left their mark in a few minutes Friday.
